Ciera Cipriani
Ciera is a master’s student studying Textile Chemistry, having graduated from NC State with a bachelor’s degree in Polymer and Color Chemistry in 2018. She has been researching azo dye photodegradation since 2015, starting with density functional theory studies in Dr. Melissa Pasquinelli’s lab. Ciera combines her theoretical work with high-resolution tandem mass spectrometry experiments in Dr. Nelson Vinueza’s lab to analyze the photodegradation products of azo dyes. She is grateful for the opportunity to work with the Vinueza Labs team on a project which challenges and fascinates her.
