Dr. Yufei Chen
Yufei graduated with a degree in Polymer Materials and Engineering from Zhejiang University, China in 2011, where he worked extensively on organic chemistry and polymer science. Yufei‘s undergraduate research project involved design, synthesis and characterization on Aggregation-Induced-Emission polymers. This project under Dr Anjun Qin and Dr. Jingzhi Sun improved his knowledge and experience in 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition utilizing copper I ion catalysis, as well as UV-Vis, Fluorescence spectroscopy, IR and NMR analysis and characterization.
He completed his PhD in Fiber and Polymer Sciences from North Carolina State University under Dr. Nelson Vinueza. His graduate research was focused on analytical chemistry work using tandem mass spectrometry, including: disperse dye fragmentation analysis, identification of monolignol compounds in bio-oils, and mass spectral imaging for degradation studies of reactive dyes and textile auxiliaries on fabrics.
